The play was the first piece of theatre to be presented in the newly refurbished Lawson Community Hall (Mechanics Institute). Originally earmarked for destruction, local residents formed a “Save the Hall” action group and after a number of years the BMCC and the RTA decided to cancel the planned demolition and instead refurbished the community hall.
Members of the cast and crew suffered from barriers such as Osteogenesis Imperfecta, ADHD, Aspergers syndrome, Post Traumatic Stress disorder, Chronic dperession, sever sleep apnea, Dyslexia and other conditions.
Louis Nowra did not agree to the many changes made to his play in this production but allowed it go ahead.
