Festival of Joy

2004-2008

Yearly festival at the Blue Mountains community gardens, Harold Hodgson park, Katoomba.

Featuring music in the afternoons and a imagistic theatre event at dusk.

In October 1992 a working group was formed to save a sedge swamp and turn it into a community garden. By 1994 the Blue Mountains City Council had come on board and in 1995 the organic, permaculture community gardens was established.

The community gardens grow fruits, nuts, vegetables, including heritage varieties, and of course, flowers. The gardens have an ethos of following the essential principles of organic agriculture by working as much as possible with natural processes for soil building and conservation, pest management and heirloom variety preservation. https://acommunitygarden.wordpress.com/about/
